PROVENANCE: A map published in 'Barclays Complete and Universal English Dictionary' by the Rev. James Barclay, revised by Henry W. Dewhurst. First published in Becker’s 'Omnigraph Atlas of Modern Geography, compiled from the latest and most authentic sources, and including all the recent discoveries throughout the world.'. Barclays Dictionary was undated but c.1845.ARTIST/ENGRAVER: Engraved by the omnigraph method by Francis Paul Becker & Company, Patentees. Becker spent many years on his invention of the omnigraph which allowed inserting names in an engraved plate without the necessity of placing each individual letter.TYPE: Antique engraving printed on paper. VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank. CONDITION: Good. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase.
