Description: Vintage Star Explorer Chart Click images to enlarge Description Vintage STAR EXPLORER Spinning Dial Chart measures approximately 8-3/4" x 8-3/4". The Chart consists of a single round disc joined in the center to a square-shaped sleeve with a brass grommet. It operates by holding the sleeve with one hand and spinning/turning the edge of the round disc with the other hand. The front of the sleeve has one large and four small coordinated window openings which reveal stars and constellations based on date, hour of the night and cardinal direction. Directions for this activity are printed on the sleeve. The back of the sleeve is educational and features astronomical information, lists and charts under the headings CIRCUMPOLAR STARS, BRIGHTEST STARS, PLANETS and ZODIAC.
