Description: This is for an original 1965 complete 88 card set of Philadelphia Chewing Gum Corporation War Bulletin Cards which come in 9 pocket sheets in a ½” binder along with a rare unopened wax pack of War Bulletin cards that has been graded NM 7 by GAI. The pack is a first generation GAI pack which was certified by the originators of unopened pack certification Mark Murphy or Paul Wright. Both were instrumental in knowing the need for an unopened pack service and bringing it to collectors. The 1965 War Bulletin set is an 88 card set that explains the story of World War II with photos and descriptions for kids which was an easier way to learn than listening to history class. Philadelphia Gum was starting to gain momentum in the card industry with a couple of NFL Licensed sets and was trying to find anything to keep those presses rolling. Along with this set they printed a Green Berets set, a Robert Kennedy set along with a few others hoping kids would find them as collectable as their football sets. They were dead wrong. Having a choice between sports and serious subjects, sports always wins with any young card buying clientele. This set comes complete with all 88 cards, including a checked off checklist. The condition of the cards are all over the map, but with an upgrade here and there you’ll have a real top of the line set. All that plus an unopened wax pack graded by first gen GAI make this a great opportunity for the non-sport collector, Philadelphia Gum collector, or someone who wants to get in on the ground floor by just buying complete sets. Everything looks and displays great. Check out the scan and email with any questions. Combined shipping always available for multiple purchases Shipping charge is for USPS Boxed Priority mail
