Description: This listing is for a 1965 Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Crown Coin England British Queen Elizabeth $1.00 British coin. The 1965 Churchhill Crowns were Crown coins made by the UK's offical national mint, The Royal Mint, to mark the death of Sir Winston Churchill. The coin was part of my late father's coin collection and it has been stored in his safe for 53 years. He passed away in 1977 so the coin was definitely purchased before that year. The coin has been in the cardboard and plastic folder, stapled with 4 staples, since the day it was purchased. This was a typical coin holder for Coins Shops at that time I removed the coin from the folder for the first time in 53 years to make the listing photos. The coin is ungraded. There were no official coin grading services in 1970s. The PCGS did not start until 1986 and NGC did not start until 1987. I'm not a coin expert so I can't provide an evalution of the condition. It is possible the coin is uncirculated. I did the best I could with the photos. It's difficult to get good close up images of coins.
