They are used on double-hung windows so that the sash bead can be adjusted for loose or rattling windows. They also look very nice as a detail. I had these custom made many, many years ago for a Victorian house I was restoring in a hamlet known as Peconic, on the north fork of the east end of Long Island. I had them made at a local machine shop in a town called Southold. These are not pressed brass but are made of solid brass, way heavier duty. Each weighs about 5 grams and are about 5/8 diameter with the barrel size diameter (the size hole it will fit inside) by about 3/8 tall. I have at least a couple of hundred of these and am asking less than $2 each for them (2 adjusters for $3.75). The less quality pressed ones retail for about $1 each. I will ship USPS First Class for smaller orders.
