Meriwether Lewis collected and described this plant in 1802. A flowering annual from the sunflower family that makes great cut flowers. Likes warm dry weather, and sandy soils, but will thrive just about anywhere with 6 hrs. of sun. Blooms all summer into fall. Pretty much carefree after established.
