Description: Up for auction is this 500 Drachmai Banknote, Dated August 8,1955 from the Bank of Greece. The obverse of the banknote has the bust of Socrates at the center inside a shaded oval. The background is Green on a multicolored underprint. The serial number appears in Red Ink twice on the note Z.05 878 914. The Krause Publications catalog number for this note is Pic #193a. The reverse of this banknote depicts Apostle Paul speaking to assembly. This note is in Crisp About Uncirculated condition. I see some very light handling mostly in the top margin of the note. There is a faint broad corner crease at the lower right corner and a trace of what might be a corner fold at the upper right corner. The note has lovely even margins on both sides. The ink on the note is bold and vivid. The water mark at the upper left side is pristine in every way. The 4 corners of the note are sharp. I would grade this note as a Choice About Uncirculated. Please look at the scans carefully and judge the grade and quality of this note for yourself before bidding.
