AHM RIVAROSSI HO SCALE CAN MOTOR UPGRADE KIT FOR ALL ARTICULATED LOCOMOTIVES

Description: PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND ITEM SPECIFICS THROUGHLY! This sale is for a brand new can motor upgrade kit for all HO scale AHM Rivarossi articulated steam locomotives. This kit will replace the early square motor or round motor mounted in the cabs of the early AHM Rivarossi Big Boy, Challenger, 2-8-8-2 and cab forward engines. This motor kit WILL NOT WORK in the newer versions of Rivarossi locomotives that have a gold-colored flat can motor mounted inside the boiler. If you don't see a motor inside the cab, then it is inside the boiler. This motor kit WILL NOT FIT other Rivarossi steam engines. If you need a motor kit for other AHM Rivarossi steam locomotives, please see my other auctions. There may be some early versions of Rivarossi articulated engines that are not compatible with this motor kit. If you have any questions, please contact me before buying this kit. This may save you the hassle of returning the kit. The motor measures 35mm long x 16mm high x 12mm wide. this motor is a dual shaft design, both motor shafts are 2mm in diameter and 6mm long. With no load at 12VDC, the motor draws 80ma and develops 8650 rpm. This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC. The stall current at 12 volts DC is 600ma, this motor is DCC compatible. This is a very high torque, heavy duty motor, it has a 5-pole skewed armature. With this motor kit installed, your locomotive will have smoother starts, better slow speed operation, and reduced operating noise The photo shows what the motor kit would look like installed on a Rivarossi 2-8-8-2 Y6b chassis. The new motor is inside the boiler and mounted between the gearboxes. The second photo shows the contents of the motor kit. What you see in the second photo is what you will receive with the kit.
