Description: An exquisite and rare antique 1910 or earlier sterling silver 90% content or higher handmade hand hammered detailed round little Kajal box. Beautiful decorated with an intricate jungle pattern. Came from the estate of a family that spent quite some time in India. Maker unknown. Piece has no markings at all possibly Calcutta Hamilton & Co as other pieces from same estate are stamped. Used as a traditional eye cosmetic applied as eyeliner and part of the Indian culture since ancient times. Weighs 23 grams and measures 2” in diameter x 1.5” tall.
