Description: For sale is an antique, octagon Earthenware platter in the Florentine pattern by Thomas John & Joseph Mayer (T J & J Mayer). NOTE: I have the larger 15 3/4" Florentine platter currently for sale in my eBay store, also. If interested to purchase both platters, I'm happy to combine shipping costs. CONDITION: The platter is in what I consider to be mint condition with absolutely no significant damage. Some age-appropriate wear and crazing is present, as is a very small 1/2mm chip on the underside edge of the plate at the 8:00 (corner) position. Please see all photos and message me if you have any questions or would like additional photos. MEASUREMENTS: The platter is 13 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" long. The base is 9 1/2" x 6 1/2". The platter weighs 3 lbs, 2 oz. TIME PERIOD: Circa 1850's MARKS: The T J & J Mayer backstamp, along with the pattern name "Florentine," is stamped on the underside of the plate's edge. See photo.
