Description: This is civil defense carbohydrate supplement hard candy from the 1960s. These candies were issued to fallout shelters and military bases as a long term ration supplement in the event of a nuclear war and fallout. They were packed into 38lb tins and sealed and stored in shelters. This is the original candy from one of the cans(pictured but not included).
