This is the first state of the book: the boards have a narrow yellow border and large yellow text on a red background. This is Dr. Seuss' third children's book. Condition of this oversize hardcover book is about Good, showing wear with loss of material to the corners, edges and spine ends, soiling to the covers, and cracks to both front and rear hinges, and a small tear at the bottom of the right front free endpaper. The interior is free of any writing or marks. No dust jacket. Not the best condition, but still a very scarce early Dr. Seuss title.
