Description: Very young sweet China girl was manufactured 1870-1880 by the Alt, Beck and Gottschaalk porcelain factory in Germany. She is 28” in height with a shoulder-plate width of 7.7” and head height of 8” which is the largest porcelain head of this company. She has a very very heavy antique sawdust filled body in good condition with black stockings over muslin feet and glazed bisque hands with no chipped fingers. She has no repairs, cracks nor hairlines. Amazing considering the huge head size. Sausage curls around the head and a center white part. Her face is very serene and childlike or younger looking. Rosy cheeks, bright blue eyes and the characteristic manufacturer’s deep red line between upper and lower lips. Her face painting is beautiful and deeply molded so very quality porcelain. Wear light mint cotton dress with rows of white cotton ruching on skirt and neckline… lots of fabric. Antique cotton eyelet slip, chemise and pantilets. Has gold pearl antique broach at neckline.
