Description: VERY Proudly presented today is this beautiful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Kwahu, the Eagle Dancer Kachina. This exquisite, vintage Kachina doll was carved around 1980 by the legendary Henry Shelton, truly one of the Founding Fathers of modern Kachina doll carving. Henry passed away a few years, and this doll represents a rare and irreplaceable example of his work. Henry's work dates from the late 1940’s, where he developed his skills and talents at the Museum of Northern Arizona. Henry was instrumental in creating and popularizing the Late Action Style. The way that Kachina dolls look today is in part because of the brilliance and talent of this wonderful man. This beautiful example of his work, in PERFECT condition despite being over 40 years old, stands 16 inches tall (to the tip of his feathers) and displays his artistry in it’s creative maturity. The figure is carved with a self-confidence and dignity which can only be described as classic. This Kachina doll could reside proudly in the best Kachina doll collections in the world, and give it’s very proud owner a lifetime of enjoyment. There are a handful of Hopi names that every collector dreams of adding to their collection, and Henry’s name will always be among them. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece by this legendary artist. Shouldn’t it be in YOUR collection? Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and sincere congratulations in advance to the very lucky buyer. As always, Best Regards, Rich
