This basket is new old stock. The nails do show some oxidation making the nail head darker on some. The liner and protector are also in excellent condition. The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018. Longaberger baskets were handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them. As a consultant for over 20 years, I have a great deal of inventory that was either stored or used for display purposes.
