METAL BLADE GUARD - for a 6" RISER EQUIPPED VINTAGE DELTA 14" BAND SAW

Description: FINGER BLADE GUARD FOR A VINTAGE DELTA 14” WOOD OR WOOD/METAL BAND SAW WITH A 6" RISER BLOCK This is the metal guard mounted to the upper blade guide at the base of the vertical adjustment post. Delta’s part number for a similalr guard for this location is LBS-182. This is not a Delta manufacturer replacement part, but a redesigned guard to serve the purpose rather than an extension of the standard guard. In the riser kit we make and sell for the vintage Delta 14" band saw, we include two finger guards. These differ from the OEM riser kit guard that uses the standard guard and an adjustable estension. Our two guards are a "short" guard for use when most of the blade is to exposed for cutting tall stock....and a "long" guard when cutting regular stock and you want most of the blade to be covered. This listing is for only the "long" guard. The shorter guard is similar in length to the standard guard used on these band saws when no riser block ishas been installed. We redesigned both of our finger guards and manufactured each of them from two pieces of heavy gage sheetmetal. The profiled lower part of the guard was CNC laser cut and then TIG welded to a formed sheetmetal channel.Once completed, the weldments were bright zinc plated for appearance and corrosion protection. The shipping for this guard is $8.00 to anywhere in the lower 48 States. Other locations may have to pay an additional shipping fee. We also manufacture a similarly designed "SHORT" blade guard for vintage Delta 14" band saws, whether they have a riser kit installed or not. Our short blade guard protects the operator from the exposed blade on a standard band saw ,or from the top portion only of the blade when cutting tall stock on a riser block equipped saw.
