Description: ORIGINAL UNIQUE VINTAGE 14k ULYSSE NARDIN WATCH HAND PAINTED BY VON DUTCH. Bought from original owner. Approx 35mm diameter excluding crown. One of a kind watch - hand painted dial by the father of custom pinstriping and the originator of Kustom Kulture in Southern California - Kenneth Howard - Von Dutch! This watch belonged to a fellow motorcycle rider and musician friend of Von Dutch who bought it new overseas in 1954. Hanging around at his shop one day in the 50s Von Dutch asked to see the watch and proceeded to paint the dial freehand with multicolored bodies assembled in a pyramid of semi erotica. On the sub dial is painted the famous flying eyeball and underneath he signed Von Dutch but only the Von remains, the Dutch was lost when the owner - a drummer - knocked the crystal off during a solo. The dial is all original and has patina and age as well as the case and worn, scratched crystal. The watch is not running and I have left it all as is for a new owner to decide if and how they want to restore it. One of the few vintage wristwatches that can truly be called unique, combining art and watch.. I have more provenance on this watch as well. Guaranteed original!
