Description: Up for bid is an ORIGINAL PT-19 instrument panel. The Fairchild aircraft was used as a primary flight trainer all through WWII by the USAAF, the Royal Air Force and the RCAF. The design beat out 17 other competitors for the contract and the Army ordered 270 of them in 1939. They were introduced into service in 1940. There were many thousands of them produced, the different designations was for the different powerplants used. The PT-26 called the Cornell in RCAF service, had an enclosed cockpit, but otherwise was the same as the PT-19 and 23. I have been all over the panel looking for any hint of an ID but alas, there is none. The clock works but needs a servicing. The compass also works but needs the fluid refilled. The instruments are all period correct, though some were serviced up into the 1970's as evidenced by the service tags. There are under 100 of these still flying so here is a chance to get an actual real panel, not a reproduction. The buyer will pay the actual shipping cost, I don't add service fee's.
