Description: The image of the "Bloodthirsty Hun" was one of the major themes in American World War I propaganda posters. Here, one such German soldier breaks into our home, fiercely looking right into our eyes. The message here is clear - buying war savings stamps directly protects the American public from a German invasion. This is a rare poster. William Addison Ireland (1880-1935) was better known by his nickname, Billy Ireland. He was a hometown hero in Columbus, Ohio where he created and ran his own comic strip, The Passing Show in The Columbus Dispatch from 1908 until his passing in 1935. This comic strip was his claim to fame, and this poster is the only war image we were able to locate by him. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. There are minor traces of soiling in the margins that do not affect the image. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters. This measures 20" x 27" (51cm x 69cm) We have been collecting original, vintage posters for 30 years, and have decided to sell some of our inventory at very attractive prices.
