Raisa Struchkova Raisa Stepanovna Struchkova (1925–2005) - Russian Soviet ballerina, ballet teacher. People's Artist of the USSR (1959). Born on October 5, 1925 in Moscow, into a working-class family. In 1935 she entered the Moscow Choreographic School (now the Moscow State Academy of Choreography). She studied in the class of ballet teacher E. P. Gerdt. During the war, the school was evacuated to Vasilsursk, but classes continued there. After graduating from college in 1944, she was accepted into the Bolshoi Theater troupe. In 1946, the ballerina's first major roles were La Sylphide in the ballet Chopiniana to the music of F. Chopin and Lise in the ballet A Vain Precaution to the music of P. Hertel.
