Description: For your consideration: a RARE 1936 Colson Commander. Magnificently restored some 25 years ago, this handsome machine has mellowed with age. A very small handful of these bikes in existence (under 25?). Very minor scuffs here and there, but this beauty stayed indoors since complete. Last 3 photos show the bike, as found, before restoration, some 30 years ago. A well-known collector in the Chicago area undertook a meticulous restoration, and had this beautiful machine in his Living Room ever since. Bike as found was solid, with no rust or damage, so the result was exceptional, with no repairs, filler, bondo, etc. Horizontal spring Lobdell has been recovered. New Departure 2 Speed, New Departure Front Brake and Wise Lock have been added. Good Year tires original. Stem and grips and tubes are reproduction. Delta horn button and other electronics have not been connected. Polished Torrington 10 pedals included, but not shown. Your chance to own an exceptional example of one of the rarest, iconic models of the early Balloon Tire Era. Shipping note: possible free delivery to Hershey PA, or Copake NY Swap meets in October.
