Description: This is an opportunity to own a rare piece of history minted in between 80-81 AD. It is actually a hard to find variety of a hard to find coin, as explained below. It is a type recorded as RIC II, Part 1, 248. This is a genuine As of Titus, struck in bronze, during his reign, and in the exact condition you see pictured. It features Titus and legend on the obverse and Victory advancing right with wreath and legend on the reverse. Grading is subjective. I believe this coin is F. This coin appears to be repatinated with a "mud wash". Some of the legend would be more visible with part of the repatination removed. I have searched through the online resources and found a total of 9 of these coins documented(Feel free to double check my research). Six are in museums. Only one other one has this particular reverse that says AVGVSTV instead of AVGVST.
