Description: RareAntique Lead CatholicAltar Still Bank 7.25"x5"x2" This rare antique Catholic altar still bank is a unique addition to any collection. It is in the form of a catholic altar. The bottom of the altar has a jhs monogram in the middle with 2 spiral pillars on each side. JHS, or IHS, is amonogramderived from the first three letters of the Greek name of Jesus, Iota-Eta-Sigma. On top of this is a chalice housed between two more spiral pillars. There is a short shelf with an architectural fan at the back on each side of these pillars. The altar is topped by an angel inside an arch the sides of which are also spiral pillars. The bank currently has much of its original offwhite paint. However the paint is flaking off leaving the silvery colored lead exposed.
