Description: Seiko 5 DX from 1967 in excellent condition, all original except the bracelet. The DX was short for "delux" and had some extra features. In this case it features the 6106 movement which has hacking (stopping the watch when setting the time) allowing for synchronized setting and a high, 25 jewel count. Condition is, overall, excellent. Polished index markers, "Seiko" logo and date window appear mint. The hands are also in mint condition. The iridescent white dial would also be mint if not for some damage at the 4 index. I found the iridescence hard to photograph. The case has been lightly re-finished and presents beautifully. The perspex crystal is original, has been polished in the overhaul and looks almost new. The bracelet is aftermarket. The 6106 movement is a variation on the 6119 which is, in my opinion, Seiko's best ever movement. It features hacking, is in pristine condition, has just been professionally overhauled/serviced and functions perfectly. So I have started adding a photo of the movement, disassembled ready to go through the cleaning machine. All old dried up lubricants, crud and anything else that shouldn't be there is cleaned away. Also, with age comes fragility and it may no longer be ideal as a daily wearer. It should be treated for what it is, something old, classical and special. Treat it as you would a vintage car - not ideal to use as a “daily driver”. Keep it in the condition at which you bought it and it will hold or, indeed, increase its value.
