ON MAY 4, 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings debuted as the first all-professional baseball team and defeated the Great Westerns of Cincinnati, 45-9. The team toured the country all summer and into the fall before capping off the season with a 17-8 victory over the Mutuals of New York on November 6 of that year. The Red Stockings finished their inaugural campaign with a perfect 57-0 record. THE MAY 4, 2019, release of this bobblehead commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Cincinnati Red Stockings taking the field for the first time wearing the very uniform donned here by our beloved Mr. Redlegs.
