Description: This is a well-kept Sony Qartz-Locked Direct Drive Semi-Auto Turntable with a great Stanton 680EE (same as the more famous 681EE) cartridge with a new 0.3 X0.7 mil stylus. Serviced with new electrolytic capacitors, lubrication to the motor, lubrication to the return mechanism, and a thorough cleaning, inside and out. This is a well-functioning entry level turntable with the added advantage of quartz-lock speed accuracy in a direct drive unit. You can have a turntable with great specs without breaking the bank if you're wanting to dip your toes in the world of vinyl recordings. The specs on this rival new tables costing $500 or more. Not only that, it comes with a well-regarded Stanton cartridge which would be at home in turntables costing many times more. Speaking of this Stanton cartridge, this 680EE is the same cartridge as the vaunted Stanton 681, the only difference being the 681 had its specifications measured and written down on an included card as part of the sales hype. The 680/681 is a very highly regarded cartridge even 50 years after its introduction. Outstanding clarity and channel separation are the hallmarks of this great cartridge. And with the new stylus, you won't have to rely on some sellers assurance that old stylus "looks good," something you can't tell without 100-200X magnification and a working knowledge of stylus wear. Starting with a new stylus, you'll be protecting your records from the moment you start playing them. This cartridge has been installed for the correct overhang distance to ensure mazimum performance. I don't just buy turntables simply to flip them as fast as I can. Why buy a turntable that has simply been "tested" (whatever that means) when you can have one that has been taken apart, fully serviced and verified to be in perfect working order? I also see units that are listed as serviced without any detail as to what was done, which could range from "the dust was blown out with air" to the complete servicing that I have done to this table. When I list, I always describe what service work has been done so you know what you're getting. Cosmetically, this turntable is in good condition with some minor signs of use. The platter mat is soft and pliable and the feet have been inspected and are in good shape. The dust cover has minor scratches, most of which could be polished out with a headlight restoration kit. It has no cracks. Check out the specifications below on this turntable and cartridge. I think you'll find that with the work done on this table, it is the best value out there for this Sony model. I will expertly pack your turntable so that it arrives in perfect condition.
