Description: This is a set of two newly made metal buttons made for the steel factory hardtops on Tigers and later Alpines. They are machined from solid brass and are chrome plated-unlike the originals which were made from pot metal with very poor chrome and they were also easily broken. This is the wider style button used on the later hardtops as the earlier tops had buttons that were about ½ the size of these which caused stress cracking on the Plexiglas vent windows. The photos show an original vent window latch and metal button (not included in this sale) to show how faded the chrome becomes on the original button. You will get two new buttons when you buy it now which is enough for one factory hardtop. Buying and selling on eBay is supposed to be fun! I try to make it that way.
