Description: For sale is this very scarce vintage double cassette set of THE DOORS - WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLD MINE on Elektra Records (1972). WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLD MINE was the first Doors compilation released after the July 1971 death of Jim Morrison. It was a career spanning double album of hits and deep cuts designed to compliment without duplication The Door's first compilation "13" (released in November 1970). It includes previous hits and album material not on the earlier compilation such as BREAK ON THROUGH as well as post-1970 material like RIDERS ON THE STORM and L.A. WOMAN. This album was deleted from the Elektra catalogue around 1980 and is scarce on this format. This wonderful complete example includes both Volumes I and II in good original condition housed in a matched pair of cases in excellent condition that may be original. The cassettes are manufactured at the WEA West German Alsdorf plant and the label type suggests that they date from the late 70s. **At the time of listing this is the only complete example of this collectable double cassette set I can find listed for sale on eBay on this side of the Atlantic.** Condition: The cases are graded Excellent (EX). The inlays are VG+ with some wear. The cassettes are Excellent (EX), the labels in great condition. Both tapes have been tested and play well.
