Description: The Lakeside Inn by Judy Pendleton, privately published (1998) softcover (8.5x11”) 142 pgs plus Index, b&w ils/photos. …no ISBN The narrative is concentrated mainly on events and developments at the site of the Inn, but there are bits of local history. (For example, the town was originally named Royellou, but that was changed in 1883 to Mt. Dora because that was easier to say and spell, and the elevation was more than 60 feet above sea level, so could be called a "Mount" in Florida.) At the time of this book's printing, The Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, Florida, was described as the oldest continuously operating Inn in Florida; located in the center of the state, 5 miles from the junction of US Route 41 and State Route 19. “What follows is the story of this beloved structure, along with some treasured photographs, recipes and anecdotes graciously shared by guests and staff over the 116-year history of the Lakeside Inn.” REF: the book's Introduction (see pic 4). Binding tight and pages clean. Slight overall use wear. I might have been tempted to rate this copy better than Very Good, but some previous owner bent over the corner of a recipe page for Soups, and again for Sauces. Please see the pictures for more information about this book and the condition of this copy. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
