The inception of The Voidz traces back to Julian's search for kindred spirits in music. This core trio expanded with the addition of Alex's old neighbor and friend Beardo (guitar) and Jake's former bandmate Amir Yagmai (guitar). The instant chemistry among these six musicians, both musically and personally, cemented the foundation of The Voidz. Bound together by a shared love for underground music, jazz, hip hop, world, African, electronic, and Middle Eastern influences, The Voidz constantly strive to blend and bend genres into a captivating and accessible form. Their creative process is fueled by a love of jamming and a penchant for the absurd. While the band members mostly reside in Los Angeles, where they recorded their last two records, they maintain strong ties to New York, where Julian lives and where their debut album Tyranny was created. Over the course of their first two albums (2014's Tyranny and 2018's Virtue), The Voidz' adventurous genre-mixing garnered a dedicated underground following and critical acclaim. The Voidz' mutant-pop sensibilities have been further highlighted through collaborations with diverse artists like Daft Punk (Infinity Repeating), Mac DeMarco (Did My Best), and an original song for the game Grand Theft Auto (Alien Crime Lord).
