Description: Here is a vintage (1951) advertising type book that celebrates the first 50 years of Gulf Petroleum Co. The book offers the history of the petroleum industry especially as Gulf Petroleum was involved in it, in Texas. The title is "Gulf 50 Since Spindletop A Human Story of Gulf's First Half Century", by Craig Thompson. It is a hard cover book that was originally owned by the Gill family, who owned and operated a Gulf Station in Beeville Texas, (The building is still there, but no longer in use- see last photo). The book cover has some obvious damage, (warped cover with insect damage). The name inside is Truman M. Gill and the date is December 1951.
