Florence Sackett is known for Western landscape, seascape, marine. Raised in Spokane, Washington, Florence Sackett is known primarily for her western landscapes, although she also paints marine scenes and seascapes. In Spokane, she married, briefly went to Texas, and then returned to Spokane where she worked in a sign shop doing silk screening. Basically self-taught, she took a correspondence course from the Kachina School of Art in Phoenix (1967) while living in Sonoma, California. Then she traveled widely in the West, married and lived for 14 years in Philomath, Oregon, and then in 1992 established a home in the desert country near Salome, Arizona. She has done paintings of the Grand Canyon for Grand Canyon National Park and has had reproductions of her work published in Sunset magazine.
