I put batteries in it and tuned stations and both right and left speakers work. There is residue from what looks to be tape on the battery cover. The cover was fine and secure when I tested this, but I did NOT go jogging or running or walking in this. It may be that when you jog or walk the cover comes loose? I don't know.
