Description: This drum is so rare, I’ve only seen 2 in my life - and I've owned both. I’ve long appreciated Tama’s vintage 80’s/90’s solid maple shells as the thinnest I’ve ever seen and this one is no exception. What’s really strange about this drum is that it’s an 8 lug and is badged as a Crestar instead of the usual Tama Artwood style badge. I can’t find it in any catalogs - American or Japanese market. It sounds unbelievably fat and dark.Also, what's interesting is that the Crestar name was short-lived because Crest (yes, the toothpaste brand) sued Tama and they subsequently had to change the name of the line to the more familiar "Granstar."
