Description: Vintage 1940 Truetone AM Wood Radio, Model D1014, Western Auto Supply Co. Kansas City, MO. It does work, but it has some condition issues. The plastic viewing screen is pushed in one one side and has cracks. The labels are missing from the buttons. The plastic tuning knob is missing, so the knob is difficult to turn. The back panel has some damage, and so is not very securely screwed on. There is a white splotch that looks like paint on the top of the wood cabinet. The volume knob causes a lot of static when you use it. That being said, it does turn on and can tune into AM stations and play them. It takes a few seconds to warm up after it is plugged in to start playing. The light above the screen still works. It is about 14 inches long, and 9 inches tall. It would be great for a restoration project.
