Description: Very nice face polished Wisconsin Moonstone showing excellent blue iridescent schiller on two sides. The dome polishing is on one side and rest is rough as it was found. The schiller covers the entire polished face and since there is a slight curve (dome) when rotated the schiller appears to move. The cut and polish was done locally by Gene Mueller who is one of the better lapidarists. The back side shows nice blue schiller as well. The specimen is a Pegmatite material and is comprised of large perthitic Anorthoclase Feldspar crystal as well as some minor accessory minerals such as Arfvesdonite, Aegerine etc. Fluoresces red under short wave UV light (not pictured). From the Stettin Pegmatite in Marathon Co, Wisconsin. This type of Moonstone is only found in Marathon County Wisconsin in a four square mile radius almost all of which is private property. This was collected with permission from the landowner. 468 grams. 4" x 3-1/2" I do combine shipping, so please request an invoice before paying. Wisconsin Moonstone. Marathon County, Wisconsin.
