Description: For sale is a stunning Zenith El Primero, reference 02.0500.400 produced most probably in the 2000s. A very classy watch, inspired by the chronographs of the 1960s, powered by the legendary El Primero automatic movement. The domed silver dial with applied indices is busy, but quite readable. The gorgeous movement, even though plainly finished, can be admired from the exhibition case back. A beautiful, nonchalant design that holds a beast of a movement inside. This is probably the most affordable El Primero that Zenith has ever done. It's a piece of horological history that can be had for a fraction of what a Chronosport or El Primero Original cost. Comes with a generic leather strap sized at 120/80mm and it should fit a wrist circumference of 20+cm. There's a small hairline scratch just beneath the Zenith logo that is visible when the light hits it right. There are tiny imperfections in the sub dials that are very hard to see without a loupe. Indices and hands are fairly clean with minor discoloration. Lume is intact and it charges bright both in the hands and indices. Sapphire crystal has a couple of hairline scratches that are hardly noticeable to the naked eye. Case has normal minor scratches and tiny dents from use. Looking at it's shape, I don't think it has been polished. The crystal on the exhibition case back has a few scratches. Crown and pushers are all original to the watch. Movement looks clean. It's losing around a minute per day, but it has a strong amplitude which will allow it to be regulated by a watchmaker so it loses as few seconds as possible. Of course, a service would be an even better idea, since service history of this watch is unknown. Chronograph starts and resets correctly, and all counters work. Date advances via the crown quickset or automatically every 24 hours. Time setting is a bit stiff. Additionally, please check the photos carefully and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Timegrapher ResultsAll the results measured with a Weishi 1000, on a full wind and the lift angle set to 52 degrees. Face up: -62 s/d, 282 amplitude, 1.7ms beat errorFace forward: -48 s/d, 236 amplitude, 2.2ms beat errorFace down: -52 s/d, 222 amplitude, 0.8ms beat error Movement ServiceThe movement's service history is unknown and I haven't personally sent it for a service. Although it runs well, keep in mind you're buying a vintage watch. If you care for it to function properly in the future, a service will be needed. WaterproofThe watch is rated at 100m, but that doesn't mean you can take it diving or even swimming immediately. The gaskets will have to be checked by a watchmaker and the watch tested in a pressure chamber to make sure it’s within specs. ReturnsReturns are not accepted unless the watch is grossly misrepresented. Please contact me before buying if you have questions. ShippingThe watch will be shipped within 3 working days via DHL. It should take between 3-7 days to arrive depending on your location. You will be provided a tracking number as soon as shipment is handled. I will not be liable for any customs delays or fees on international orders. Please contact me if you have any questions about shipping.
